John Kwayidami, the traditional leader of the Chida community in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as well as 13 members of the community, have been abducted by terrorists, also known locally as bandits.
An 18-year-old teenager named Solomon was wounded in the leg by the gunmen who invaded the neighborhood last Thursday as he tried to flee.
AK-47 rifles were used by the kidnappers, according to Ishaya Musa, a resident of Chida, who claimed they invaded the neighborhood at around 11:34 p.m.
He asserted that the kidnappers took him from the chief’s palace before robbing 13 other persons of their belongings.
Unfortunately, the kidnappers shot a little child in the leg as he attempted to flee in fright from the sporadic gunfire; he is currently being treated at the hospital.
According to him, some of the victims were asleep outside their compounds due to excessive heat when the kidnappers invaded and surrounded the community.
Musa said contact was established when the leader of the kidnappers called the families of the victims.
